Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. She has released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences of hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco is widely recognized as a feminist icon, and Grammy award-winning musician is widely regarded as to be the father of DIY music. She was among the first artists to establish their own labels in 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship in their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father has Italian origins. 32 Flavors was recorded with and performed by Ani DiFranco.
