Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. She has released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences of hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco is widely recognized as a feminist icon, and Grammy award-winning musician is widely regarded as to be the father of DIY music. She was among the first artists to establish their own labels in 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship in their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father has Italian origins. 32 Flavors was recorded with and performed by Ani DiFranco. It is a track from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's 6th studio release. A version of the track is featured on the movie soundtrack for the 1999 Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. In 2013, DiFranco apologized when the news that she planned to host an event for three days in a former Louisiana plantation for slaves. It was canceled, but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco issued a new apology just a few days following the first. Though she's known for her role as the Little Folksinger, her songs have embraced a variety of genres and collaborators ranging in a variety of styles from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani diFranco along with Kristen Ford are together. At the age of 14, she began creating her own music. In her teenage years she would perform the songs in bars as well as coffeehouses. DiFranco is a student who graduated in the age of 16 at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, was the first to study at Buffalo State College.
